The Nature Conservancy has been working with communities, individuals, and businesses to protect important natural areas in Wisconsin for more than 40 years.  Acquiring key parcels of land is still one of the ways that we make sure important habitat is protected.  We have also expanded the scope of our work to include activities like public lands planning, fire management, and compatible economic uses of natural areas.  Thank you for your interest in conserving Wisconsin's outstanding natural features.

The Nature Conservancy actively acquires land that provides habitat for native species and natural communities in several areas of the state through a variety of techniques that
include: acquisition, donation, conservation
easement, and bargain sale.

We are also interested in gifts of real estate without significant natural value that can be sold to fund protection of places like the Chequamegon Bay Watershed in Ashland, Bayfield, and Iron Counties.  Please see the Conservation Options page for more information and descriptions of a variety land protection options.

If you have land that lies within one of our Conservation Areas (Adobe Acrobat pdf map) or are interested in donating your property to help fund our efforts in conservation areas throughout the state, please complete this questionnaire (Adobe Acrobat pdf or MSWord) and return it to us at the address on the form or to wisconsin@tnc.orgTo protect your privacy, please do not include sensitive personal information in this form.  When using this form, you should never submit confidential financial or personal information, such as a credit card number.

See the link below if you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader.

If you are interested in protecting land that lies outside of our conservation areas, please contact Gathering Waters Conservancy.  A map of other Land Trusts and protection organizations working in Wisconsin can be found on the Gathering Waters website.  Gathering Waters is an educational and technical assistance organization for Wisconsin landowners and land trusts.  They should be able to assist you in finding an organization in your area that can help you protect your land.

If your land falls outside of our Conservation Areas, we would be willing to pass along your contact information and a description of your land to our list of Conservation Buyers (individuals who have expressed an interest in buying and preserving land in Wisconsin).  Please contact us at wisconsin@tnc.org if you wish to pursue this option.

Again, thank you for your interest in working with The Nature Conservancy.  Together we can ensure that Wisconsin's great places are preserved for generations to come.
