January 29, 2008: Conservation groups work with farmers to conserve 1,435 acre near Little Blackwater River
The Eastern Shore Land Conservancy, The Nature Conservancy, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, have worked with the owners of Good Luck Farm to conserve 1,435 acres of forest and agricultural land next to Little Blackwater River, near Cambridge in Dorchester County just north of the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge.

July 11, 2006: The Nature Conservancy Appoints New Land Manager for Nassawango Creek Preserve
The Nature Conservancy in Maryland/DC has appointed Joseph “Joe” Fehrer Jr. as land manager for its Nassawango Creek Preserve, the largest private nature reserve in Maryland. Fehrer has served as a volunteer for the Conservancy’s Nassawango Creek stewardship committee since he joined the committee at age 21. Most recently, he served as the committee’s chairman.
